NO CLASSES 3RD & 4TH OF JULY There will be no classes next Monday & Tuesday due to the 4th of July Holiday. However, remember we will be meeting for regular pom practice times on Thursday, July 6th instead, to help us prepare for Nationals!
STAR REPAIRS NEEDED Would someone please be willing to repair our star for Nationals? It’s looking a little rough, and I will not have time before we go to Nationals! Please see me after class!
HIP HOP TEAMS We are pre-planning and working choreography for the hip hop dance teams. Please let us know by Tuesday of this week if you are participating on this dance team so we can choreograph appropriately. Registration and 1st month’s tuition is due by July 1st. Thanks!
CHEER ELITE & HIP HOP TEAMS Please update your coaches and team tonight as to your car wash dates and locations! Defiance girls, Alexis Bailey’s mom, Hip Hop team member, is willing to organize the Defiance car wash if no one has taken the initiative yet…please see me after practice if you have already begun to organize it. Thanks!
GROCERY BAGS NEEDED We need plastic grocery bags for the gym. If you have any to donate, we’d appreciate it! Thanks!

6/19/06 - 6/25/06 JUNE 24th PERFORMANCE TT Poms, Mini Poms and Juv Poms will be performing this Saturday at the Williams County Fairgrounds for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life! Please be there, dressed and ready next to the sound system area, by 8:45am. We will perform our routines and tumble for a ½ hour or so. This will be followed by some Stage Wright Theatre vocalists who will sing a few musical theatre selections.
CHEER ELITE TEAMS You and your child will be assigned a buddy family for the season, who you will want to get acquainted with and carpool to practices/competitions/performances. Please use each other to help relay information and Class Act business.
POM NATIONALS There is a Nationals line-up hanging at the gym. A call time for the girls will be announced in the next week or so. There is some pretty tough competition, so let’s keep working hard to get these routines in shape! Please be sure that your fundraising accounts are in good standing so the fundraising committee can close out the 05-06 books immediately following our National competition. Thanks! 6/12/06 - 6/18/06 JUNE 10th COMPETITION Thank you to everyone who helped make our competition a success this past Saturday! Especially our area managers, for all their hard work organizing and setting things up for us! We are still working on the figures for us to announce our net profit…We have lots of candy, t-shirts and teddy bears left over that cannot be returned, so we are selling them during practices throughout the summer. We will also be setting up stands for selling these items at our Cheer Elite/Hip Hop car washes too! So the dough will continue to come in!
CHEER ELITE TEAMS We need each Jr Prep member to provide us with any further summer schedule conflicts…now that ball is done, we should be expecting each of our members to attend practice at the scheduled time…if you have any vacations planned, please let us know immediately so that we may use our practice time as best we can! Please give all information to Deb. Thank you!
Car Washes: Following is a list of all girls broken up by community…I would like you to get together with the other individuals who live in your community and work together to organize your car wash! I’d like each “team” to announce your car wash date and location this Thursday at practice!

We can discuss as a group whether we’d like to perform, compete, or just meet and practice for fun! I’d like to teach/learn tumbling skills, stunting skills and cheer/dance skills and work together in practice to choreograph a fun routine! Please email me or let us know at practice if you are in! 6/5/06 - 6/11/06 STRYKER FEST PARADE Thank you to all of you who attended and represented us with pride at the Stryker Summer Fest. The performance was lightly attended and I apologize for having us perform that early. Next year, it looks like it will benefit us more to perform AFTER the parade. The parade was fun, however, and I know the girls enjoyed showing off and representing their team! I sure did!
JUNE 10TH COMPETITION As of the writing of this newsletter, on Sunday Eve, we still do not have a line-up yet for the competition, nor do we know exactly how many teams to expect yet. I am assuming that it will be fairly small. Hopefully I will get that by Monday night. Please plan on spending the day at the competition, as we will need everyone to help get things ready in the morning (doors open at 8am) and be available after the competition for clean-up (the more we have helping, the quicker it will be). Please be there to help by 8am on Saturday morning. I will let you know as soon as possible, our estimated performance time for the teams. We will be setting up on Friday, June 9th during the day from 12-3pm at the school. If you have not signed up to work on Saturday, please come and help set up! We have a lot to organize and a lot of team members to help! Remember, the proceeds help cut your competition costs next season! Thank you! I am very excited to host our first competition EVER, and I am proud to have you all a part of this experience! Thank you to all of you who have volunteered your time, money and support!

SUMMER TUMBLING, CHEER & STUNT CLASSES Please let me know immediately if you want to sign up for summer tumbling, cheer or stunt classes. I am getting a good response from prospective 06-07 members, and we will be filling up quickly, I think! COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES Please sign up for the Stryker Summer Fest on June 3rd. I will have a sign up list outside the gym door for those who are available to be there!
Please sign up to help paint the Legion canon! We will need about 5-8 girls (older) and parents that would be willing to do this task for us! Sign up sheet is outside the gym door. ITEMS NEEDED The Legion needs to replace the windows on the stage side of gym. In order to save the most cost on heating each winter, they plan to replace them with Anderson tempered glass windows. The ceiling fans are also extremely old and use a LOT of energy. If anyone involved with Class Act has a contact that could get us any of these items donated, that would be greatly appreciated. 5/8/06 - 5/14/06 STATE COMPETITION WOW! Our teams really left an impression on Saturday at STATE! Tiny Tots are STATE CHAMPS! Way to go girls! And our Mini and Juv teams really showed their stuff and did a super job! Showstoppers were sure tough to beat, huh? In my opinion, Juveniles should have taken STATE! Again, we were less than a ½ point from beating the Ramettes. Way to go girls! I am proud of every one of you! FUNDRAISING FUNDRAISING MEETING THIS TUESDAY FOR JUVENILE POMS!!! NATIONALS LOCATION AND HOTEL INFORMATION WILL BE DISTRIBUTED!!
As you all know, on June 10 we will be hosting our 1st annual Summer Sizzler Baton, Show & Pom Dance competition. Kim has high hopes for this competition and we want to do everything in our power to make this the best competition ever. As you are all aware, the money generated from the competition will go towards many things for the team next year including competition fees. This means the more we earn at the competition, the less money that comes out of our pockets!!! Having said that, I am asking for each family to donate $10 to go towards the concessions. Just think...we had to raise $250 for this year. Your donation can significantly reduce that amount next year. It is beneficial if everyone contributes because the less money that Class Act has to provide, the more money we make.
Your $10 team contribution is needed by June 1 so that we may be able to make the necessary purchases. Please make checks payable to: STAGE WRIGHT and give the money to Deb Pizzo, team administrator, at practice. She would prefer a check and on the memo line write concessions. I am getting a good response from prospective 06-07 members, and we will be filling up quickly, I think! CHEER ELITE For those who have accepted or have been asked to participate on our Junior Prep and Mini Prep cheer elite squads for the 06-07 season...I would like to hold a clinic for those girls on Monday, May 15th, from 6:30-8:30pm. This clinic is being scheduled so that I can work on figuring possible stunt groups and give the girls a chance to see who are/might be joining them on these teams next season. Please let me know if your child is unavailable for this clinic. COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES I would like to make Class Act present at the Stryker Summer Fest on June 3rd. I will have a sign up list outside the gym door for those who are available to be there! If we can get a full team available, we can perform our routine for the community! Lots of fun! The Legion also has a Curly Fry deep fryer that we might be able to use to sell some curly fries and raise a little money! Anyone available to contact the chamber to check in to this for us and possibly get things set up?
The Legion needs their canon painted! We will need about 5-8 girls (older) and parents that would be willing to do this task for us! Let’s thank the Legion for allowing us to rent their space! There will be a sign up sheet outside for this activity also. Once we have the volunteers, we’ll schedule a day and time. SMOKERS Please make sure you put your cigarette butts in the butt can that the Legion provided outside the front door. We are finding a lot of butts on the sidewalk, and we want to respect the Legion property. Thanks!

It is likely to be afternoon through the evening. Please call your buddy if you do not have email! Make-up: Attached is a picture to help you with your child’s make-up application. It is a very simple design that anyone can do, we just need to keep the purple from getting too intense! Please add only three stars to the eye as well, if you have stars. I will have a sample picture hanging in the hall for you to look at also. I would like all girls’ make-up to look the same. If you have any questions, please see me! Thanks! Juvenile parents, please make sure your uniforms look clean! FUNDRAISING Your fundraising dollars should be in to the fundraising committee at this point. Please contact Nicki 419-497-2092, DJ 419-438-0809 or Diane 419-576-6484 for any fundraising concerns. Thank you! To help out with our June 10th competition, please see Deb at practice and let her know you’d like to help out! She can let you know what help is needed and where to put you!
